Well, we had a change of heart and decided to backtrack and head South to Tongariro National Park to see some mountains. The drive from Auckland down was boring, but well worth it. We stayed the night in Turangi. Today we did a hike to Tama Lakes nestled in between Mt. Ngauruhoe (The ng is pronounced ing.) and Mt. Ruapehu. Pictures to come in the morning.
