Hi everybody. We are now in the town of Wanaka for a few days. After 4 nights in Queenstown, it was kind of sad to leave. We did the Shotover Jets, the luge, got massages (for my birthday), went snowboarding, and ate at some fabulous restaurants. Yesterday we made the scenic drive out to Glenorchy, and then crossed the Crown Range Road into Wanaka. Last night we went to a show at the Paradiso Cinema, which is definitely the thing to do in Wanaka. The theater was filled with couches (and a VW Bug,) and packed out at about 25 kiwis (plus us of course). We opted for the homemade ice cream and a still-warm, giant, chocolate chip cookie (biscuit) at intermission. Today we are headed up into Mt. Aspiring National park for a hike. We may stay up there in a DOC site (the C stands for conservation here not corrections) if available, otherwise we will be back here in Wanaka tonight. Thanks for checking in on us.
